Exterior Screens FAQ

1. Which Eclipse exterior screens does Earth Ideas offer?

Our website features Eclipse E-Zip Side Retention Exterior Screens and Cable & Track Screens. The appropriate system depends on the opening, shading goals, fabric and intended use.

2. What is the difference between E-Zip and cable or track screens?

E-Zip retains the fabric along the sides of the opening. Cable and track systems use different guidance arrangements. That difference matters when comparing shading, insect control and installation needs.

3. Can exterior screens help keep insects out?

A properly fitted Eclipse E-Zip installation with an appropriate insect-screen fabric can help limit insect entry. Do not assume every solar fabric or cable-guided screen forms an insect barrier.

4. Will exterior screens give me privacy at night?

Privacy depends on the fabric and lighting on both sides. A screen that provides daytime privacy may allow views inside when the interior is brighter at night. Discuss nighttime privacy before choosing fabric.

5. Will a solar screen block my view or make the area dark?

The fabric openness, color and density affect visibility, daylight and shading. Compare samples before ordering so the screen provides the balance of view, light and privacy you prefer.

6. Can these screens reduce heat and glare?

Exterior solar screens can reduce direct sun and glare. Results depend on the selected fabric, orientation and site conditions. They are not a substitute for air conditioning or a promise of a specific temperature reduction.

7. Are Eclipse screens motorized, and do they need electricity?

Motorized systems require a suitable power arrangement. Some screen configurations also offer manual operation. Confirm the available controls, electrical work and compatibility for the exact model before ordering.

8. Can exterior screens be installed on an existing patio?

Often, yes. The opening, mounting support, clearances, alignment and power access must be evaluated. Measure each opening rather than assuming standard dimensions or that every location suits every screen system.

9. How should exterior screens be used and maintained?

Follow the model instructions for wind, weather and cleaning. Keep the screen path clear and avoid forcing a screen that binds. Fabric and tracks need appropriate care; these products should not be treated as storm shutters.

10. What affects the price and warranty of an exterior screen?

Size, system, fabric, controls, mounting and electrical work affect the quote. Warranty coverage also varies by
component and product. Ask for the written scope, manufacturer terms and any separate installation coverage.
